Polyamide films (PA films), also known as nylon films, are distinguished by their excellent mechanical properties, including high temperature resistance and versatile applications across various industries. They offer an optimal combination of strength, flexibility, and chemical resistance, making them ideal for demanding packaging and technical applications.
optimal combination of strength, flexibility, and chemical resistance, making it ideal for demanding packaging and technical applications.
Excellent barrier properties: They provide effective protection against gases such as oxygen and aromas, making them ideal for food packaging.
Thermal resistance: Due to their high temperature resistance, PA films are suitable for hot air and steam sterilization as well as for cooking and roasting bags.
Chemical resistance: They are resistant to many chemicals, including fats, oils, and fuels.
Material types: PA 6, PA 6.6, PA 11, PA 12, and copolyamides
Formats: Tubular, semi-tubular, and flat films, as well as bags with or without side gussetsThermal: Melting temperatures up to 260°C
PA films offer good thermal resistance as well as a barrier against gases such as oxygen. When combined with PE, PA provides both excellent gas and water vapor barriers and offers a wide sealing range. In technical applications, the high thermal and chemical resistance of polyamide makes it the material of choice.
Sterilization films: used to package medical devices or waste, with germs being killed inside using hot air or steam
Hot-fill bags: temperature-resistant bags into which bitumen or adhesives can be hot-filled
Insulation films: PA films are used as insulation films in batteries
